What the people say...
Today music is easily accessible via the internet and there are only a handful of music stores left. Looking for music online is lacking in an important way and that is you really can't look and feel like you have found something truly unique. Princeton Record Exchange fulfills that missing link. There is so much new and used music to choose from, especially if you are a collector of vinyl. The music connoisseur can spend hours flipping though cd's or vinyl records looking for a particular artist and might come across something totally different. It is also a place where you can talk to other collectors and exchange recommendations or help each other find a particular piece of music. I think the most import reason why I like the Princeton Record Exchange is that it brings me back to my youth when the music was truly great.

Trade-ins? Yes.
Pricing: On the higher end. Typically $7-$25 a record.
Average Condition: Excellent. Almost all of the covers are in great condition, and the records are scratch free.
Digging Required? The store is broken down by genre, and the records are broken down alphabetically. As usual, if you're interested in the discount bins, there's going to be some heavy digging.

In My Opinion...
As I meet new record collectors throughout the city, their first recommendation is to hit up Princeton Record Exchange. After hearing this recommendation over 20 times, I decided to check this place out. It has to be incredible, right? It lived up to the hype. The record store is located in a tiny side street within Princeton, and if you do not keep your eyes peeled, you might just miss it. Inside the record shop are rows as far as the eye can see of records. A majority of the “popular,” or frequently bought records are located in the front of the store. These records tend to fall in the classic rock, rock, blues, and jazz genres. As you peruse through the store, you’re bound to stumble upon a hodgepodge of records. It’s often said that you have to go through the records one time, take a lunch break, and return to dig once again. They have that many records! All of their records are in good condition, and I’m a fan of their sealed, newer albums, as they often have records I can’t find anywhere else. All in all, Princeton Record Exchange is a treasure, and worth checking out.
